Today mom, dad, Oma and auntie Elisabeth celebrated my 1st birthday.
MY day started as follows, after my 10 minute of ritual of slapping and gently nail tapping (I may have drawn some blood) mom, she finally woke up and brought me downstairs where Oma and Elisabeth sang 'Happy Birthday' for me (dad stayed upstairs and enjoyed a bit
more snooz)
After my song I was surprised with 3 seperate (freshly baked and warm) cakes! Oma forced Elisabeth out of bed at 5:30am this morning just so that I could have my cake!
I had a piece of each cake, one yummier than the first; I moved on to milk and home made bread and cheese. For those who don't spend much time with me, I have quite an appetite.
After an hour or two dad finally came downstairs and wished me a 'Happy Birthday' - on a side note, I don't understand why he kept kissing mom so much on MY birthday. They kept wispering all day about 'what a night that was,' 'remember how happy we were,' 'can you imagine a year has passed already,'....Mom even shed a tear - oh well, grown ups - no one understands those.
After daddy ate and I opened (well tried to open) my presents and god mommy Sabine
called for my birthday, we went on a hike. The highlight was the fortress on top of the mountain.
It was so much fun to be on daddy's back and be watching us climb higher and higher - so much fun actually that I passed out.
However, I have a nack for good timing and woke up to help daddy eat his salad with smoked salmon. After all, now that I am a year old, I have to help him a bit...Oh, and it was there when I received Anamaria's fun email card on mom's blackberry! I LOVED that she thought of me!
We made it to the fortress and I got to play and run around the base. While I am a pretty good walker these days, I preferred to inspect the stones and leaves on the ground (until mom rudely interrupted me.)
Oma then picked us up and drove us back down to Elisabeth's house where our culinary tour continued into the land of Christmas cookies. Naturally, I could not leave the grown ups to eat those alone - so I had my fair share of cookies as well - while Oma was trying to catch me.
Then we ended up driving back home - Elisabeth showered us with gifts (I received my first clock book), cookies, and more cakes.
By the time we came home, I only got to play a little with Oma, eat a little more and that was the end of the day!
Ahh, what a big day, I did not want it to end but mom (as usual had her methods to put me right to sleep...)
