Wow - how quickly three months pass!!!
It seems like yesterday that we came back from Germany to celebrate New Year's Eve and now April is almost over.
A LOT has happened since we came back in December 31, 2009 and we are happy to report that the good outweigh the bad!
January was quite a busy month, after our return from Germany we had an additional Birthday bash for yours truly - William. It just didn't seem right to celebrate with the German grandma only, so we had a second party in early January.
It was so much fun and so many lovely friends and family joined us - great-grandpa Bert, our Swedish grandma (preferably called Marti) and grandpa, uncle Gabe and aunt Olesya (who announced their engagement and are now Mr. and Mrs. Moosman - yeah!), wonderful Melissa, sweet Lin, and delightful Anamaria and Jean and Paul all joined us for William's celebration!
The birthday party was followed by an outing to Peter Luga with Joseph, Marti, Gabe and dad and William. It was so much fun and the evidence is in the knifes...
Shortly after Jo's departure (January 14), we were joined by grandma Marti who stayed with us for three weeks, before she flew out to spend a delightful time in Costa Rica. So much fun!
We started swimming classes for William at the 14th Street Y, which are sooo much fun - TJ is an amazing teacher and we will be continuing them for a long time.
Unfortunately, this month we had to say good-bye to our beloved Anamaria who returned home to her family. We are still in contact via Facebook but hope that we actually get to see her very soon!!!
Anamaria's leaving caused quite a void in our household as she is such an amazing lady and William loved her so much.
Lucky for us though, Melissa jumped right in and besides turning into the heart and soul of HVC has turned into our most trusted person person with William! (also the most fun person for William)
February was overshadowed with mom focusing on tax season, multiple ugly viruses that send mom to the doctor and William to the ER. Fortunately, all turned out to be harmless and everyone recovered pretty quickly. We are of course in good hands when it comes to Dr. Defeo who always returns our phone calls - no matter how late or what day!
March we had a surprise visit from uncle Darwin who finally got to meet William and we took a trip to San Francisco to celebrate mom's birthday and plan for the realization of our dream of tri-coastal living.
We LOVED San Francisco, we walked throughout the city (up to 5 miles), got to hang out with Fatima who was expecting Adam Ryan (who has since joined us), we saw Emilia and William's new friend Niko, who exchanged the sweetest hugs, and we got to stay with John and Kamilla, who truly made us feel at home. Most importantly though, we were very happy to finally introduce William to Great-grand uncle Ed and aunt Nita, who spoiled us all afternoon!
As spring would have it, William got sick in San Francisco and we had the opportunity to compare SF's ER and doctor services to NYC - and would have to report that SF wins on all aspects - cleanliness, friendliness and efficiency.
We had so much fun on our trip which was just too short! (and mom was terrified on the bumpy ride back and has since sworn to get over her fear of flying....)
Over all we had a great first 3 months of 2009 and are looking to an even more fun time for spring and early summer.
