Kindergarten

Mom and Oma decided that I would learn German the quickest, by going to German Kindergarten. So, on May 16, 2011 I ventured out and jumped into the cold water.

Everything was and is still quite intimidating. Older children and younger children are mixed together and play with very little instruction. The place is so much bigger than what I am used to, with 3 houses and a large backyard that opens into a forest....I love the toys, which are abundand and the many climbing opportunities. However, it is a bit frustrating that I cannot communicate as of yet.

My teacher Anne, is nice and I am slowly warming up to her. She tries to speak English with me but I am still a little shy.

The highlight of my experience was daddy coming to Kindergarten with me and playing soccer. We were laughing so hard that everyone was looking at us, but we did not care.

This week is forest week and I hope that the smaller group will help me adjust a bit better.

Nevertheless, Mom was right in that I am learning German rather quickly....On a separate note, Alexander has been a stable companion in this venture and has adapted quite well to the abundance of toys and children. His favorite object is the broom, which he has been using at home and in Kindergarten.
